So, it's getting on for three years since I posted and there's a lot of catching up to do. No, not really! I've actually been inspired (if that's the right word) by a recent seminar I attended with my wife about the role of social media in adult learning. This was run by a company we both do some work for and served as both a learning and networking event. It went really well and I've now begun using twitter (and those who mock it - who me?! - should really consider giving it a go, not necessarily so you can tweet yourselves but so you can see what's going on.
Anyway, said company wants "blogs" for its website and my wife duly obliged. She wrote a really good personal piece about her perceptions of learning through social media and the barriers she had to overcome, only to have it returned to be edited. What?! I thought blogs were supposed to be personal not blummin' homogenised company pieces. If they'd wanted an article, they should have asked for one and not called it a blog. Bah, makes me cross.
However, some good may have come of this, because I think I might have persuaded my wife to overcome another barrier and I do believe that at this very moment she may be signing up to a blogging site. Watch this space!
